# The Algorithm

A full 100% of a user’s $10 subscription will go directly to the content they engage with on HIO, based on a weighted algorithm that assigns points to each interaction, each month.\

**Weighted Point System:**\
-Likes = 1 Point\
-Comments = 8 Points\
-Shares (called Relios) = 12 Points\
-Plays (Over 30 Seconds) = 70 Points\
\
All the points from a subscriber’s interactions are added up over the month, and $10 is divided by this total amount to find the primary value of each point that month.\

**Example:**\

**User A's engagement :**\
-58 Likes (58 x 1) = 58 Points\
-0 Comments (0 x 8) = 0 Points\
-10 Relios (10 x 12) = 120 Points\
-84 Plays (84 x 70) = 5,880 Points\

$7 / 6,058 Points = $0.00165 Base Rate per Point this month. Each subscribed user has a base rate every month, which determines how much creators are paid based on the user's interactions with them. \

Therefore, if User A liked 5 posts by User B, User B would be credited $0.00825 in their dashboard from User A (**0.00165 base x 1 point x 5 likes = $0.00575**)\
\
If User A listened to 10 songs by User C, User C would be credited $1.155 in their dashboard (**0.00165 base x 70 points x 10 plays = $1.155**)
